It was Tuesday evening and I got home as usual excited to be back from school and to catch up on the latest episode of Passions (the romantic series that had caught my attention at the time). My mom stood at the door of the house as usual with a huge smile showing how excited she was to see me.
There was nothing better than seeing my mom’s smile and open arms ready to welcome me home like a soldier coming back from war who had just won World War 3.
Only I had just been coming back from school.
I leaped into her embrace and enjoyed her warmth. Immediately I could smell the cookies. She had been baking.
I then dashed to the kitchen and indeed the fresh aroma of the cookies filled the kitchen. I grabbed one and it melted in my mouth. My heart was full, and I had everything I ever wanted in life.
Little did I know that that very evening, my mother’s health would spiral out of control.
We thought she was sleeping when all of a sudden she started coughing and vomiting uncontrollably. She was weak and lying helplessly on the floor. My dad called the family doctor who advised us to sit her upright as she might choke on her vomit.
The doctor instructed my dad to keep her hydrated with water but that did not work because she couldn’t keep anything down.
I was convinced this was it.
My mom had been sick a couple of times before and she had had many near-death experiences but this one was extreme. I could see life draining faster than lightning from her body.
In despair, I sunk to my knees and knew only one person who could do something: God.
The problem was I didn’t know what to say and how to pray.
I remember the neighbors came to help load her into the car and my dad rushed her to hospital.
I was left there, helpless and wondering what was going to happen.
Knowing how frustrated, stressed, and helpless you feel now I want to offer a few prayers for mom before surgery. As your faith is shaken beyond your imagination and you have no idea if she will be back home from surgery, I have a prayer for you.
When your belief is no more, I am here to believe for you.
If you had told me my mom would make it back from hospital I wouldn’t have believed. I was sure that it was the last time I would see her again.
My point is; when you have lost faith someone still has it.

Dear God, my mom is going to have surgery, I am scared that she will not wake up. I am terrified of a million things that could go wrong in that operating room. Holy Spirit go with her and be with her in that room.
Dear Lord, I pray that she has successful surgery followed by a full recovery. I believe in the all-knowing God. Father, be with every single medical staff in the room. As they operate on her take charge Lord. You are the great physician with all the healing power.
During our time of need as a family do not leave us, Lord. Hold our hand every step of the way during this difficult time. May we not lose our faith and believe in you, o Lord.
We believe that you will guide the hands of the surgeon and the hands of the medical people as they operate on mom. Your healing touch will be overflowing in that room.
In the end, we believe that mom will have good health again. Lord, you are the divine healer, and we place Mom in your hands.

Father God, I need your healing touch. I ask you, father, to make sure that my mother has a successful operation. Our dear heavenly Father, take control of the operating room and everyone in it.
Father I want my mother to be restored to full health even before she gets into that operating room. I have faith that you Lord can do it and you will do it.
You have told us in your word that even if we have faith as small as a mustard seed we can say to this mountain move and it will move. Today we say and believe that mom will be healed in Jesus’ name.
The surgeon will be surprised and all who hear of this miracle will praise you the almighty father.
Her healing will be testimony to non-believers, family members, or many who have lost their faith in your power.
Lord, we know that nothing is impossible with you Father God, and we have peace of mind and nothing to worry about because Mom will have full health.
In fact, she will be healthier than she was as a young women O God because you have assured us that you will give us everything and above what we ask for as long it’s in accordance with your will.

Our dear heavenly Father I pray for my mother’s recovery process. It might be a long and daunting road, but I pray for strength for her. After this successful operation, I pray that she endures the road to recovery and complete healing.
Only you O God can give her the mental and physical strength to go through the healing process. This is the last time she ever enters the operation room. Father God with grateful hearts we thank you for what you have done and for what you are still going to do.

Father, my mom is going to surgery tomorrow and I ask for your divine intervention. I put the surgical team in your hands. Oh, merciful father I pray and believe for a successful outcome.
God pray to you because I believe in the healing power of God. I know that you will work through the hands of the doctor and the rest of the hospital staff on that operating table.
I carry a heavy heart because doubt is weighing on me.
Father I am scared.
Our gracious Father we ask for a higher power to go with her into that surgery. You are a merciful father, and you are the giver of life that’s why we believe and trust your holy name. I pray that the outcome of the doctors is positive, and her physical body is made whole again.
Lord tonight I dwell in your loving arms and offer this healing prayer unto you knowing that you hear me when I talk to you.
May your guardian angels keep my mother and give her more life.
Tonight, I sleep in perfect peace knowing that I have laid down all my problems and fears at your feet. Father, you will give us peace that surpasses all human understanding throughout her surgery because you are God. You will give my mother the best care.
You are almighty God, and our faith is in you only.

Father as family and friends today we pray for Mom. It’s the surgery day we have all been waiting for. Jesus, please bless the hands of the doctor who will be operating on her.

We know that a human hand will be operating but we believe that you God will be in charge.
You are a gracious father who promised to never leave us nor forsake us, that’s how we know that you are in charge.
